WLMGL

The WLMGL control statement requests the Workload Manager Report.

WLMGL
[TYPE={(DETAIL,ACTIVITY,DELAY)|ALL}]
[,SUMMARY={(SRVCLASS,RPTCLASS,WORKLOAD,POLICY,ALL,NODETAIL)}]
[,PERIOD={DAY|WEEK|MONTH}]
[,UNUSED={SUPPRESS|PRINT}]
[,SRVCLASS={(up to 32 service class names)}]
[,RPTCLASS={(up to 32 report class names)}]
[,WORKLOAD={(up to 32 workload names)}]
[,POLICY={(up to 32 service policy names)}]

Best Practice

To collect synchronous data from all systems in the sysplex, BMC recommends that you use the SYNCH=SMF parameter of the Extractor REPORT control statement.

Parameters

The parameters for the WLMGL control statement are as follows:

TYPE=

specifies the type or types of reports to be generated; allowable values are as follows:

  • DETAIL—generates the Detail section; the default
  • ACTIVITY—generates the Goal Activity Map section
  • DELAY—generates the Goal Mode Delay Map section
  • ALL—generates all three reports

SUMMARY=

lets you select one or more summary levels; allowable values and the report summaries that they create are as follows:

  • SRVCLASS—creates the Service Class Summary section
  • RPTCLASS—creates the Report Class Summary section
  • WORKLOAD—creates the Workload Summary section
  • POLICY—creates the Service Policy Summary section
  • ALL—creates reports that represent a combination of all allowable values, with the exception of the NODETAIL value
  • NODETAIL—creates only summary level reports, without the detail level

Note

The SUMMARY parameter applies to the WLMGL Detail section only, and not to the WLMGL Activity Map or Delay Map sections.

PERIOD=

specifies the granularity of the ACTIVITY and DELAY MAPS

  • DAY—requests that the map represent processing for each 15-minute period of a day

If the data from more than one day is processed, the map shows the combined activity for all days. This value is the default.

  • WEEK—requests that the map represent processing for each two-hour period of a week
  • MONTH—requests that the map represent processing for each eight-hour period of a month

UNUSED=

specifies whether reports are printed for service classes that report no work

  • SUPPRESS—prevents the generation of reports for service classes that report no work; the default
  • PRINT—requests that reports for all service classes be generated

SRVCLASS=

specifies one or more specific service classes that are to be included in the WLMGL report

This parameter permits up to 32 names, enclosed in parentheses and separated by commas. Wildcard characters (*) are allowed. If this parameter is omitted, all service classes are included in the report.

Note

You can produce a report that excludes service class information by specifying the name of a service class that you know does not actually exist. For example, SRVCLASS=NONE.

RPTCLASS=

specifies one or more specific report classes that are to be included in the Report Class Summary section

This parameter permits up to 32 names, enclosed in parentheses and separated by commas. Wildcard characters (*) are allowed. If this parameter is omitted, all report classes are included in the report.

Note

You can produce a report that excludes report class information by specifying the name of a report class that you know does not actually exist. For example, RPTCLASS=NONE.

WORKLOAD=

specifies one or more specific workloads that are to be included in the WLMGL report

This parameter permits up to 32 names, enclosed in parentheses and separated by commas. Wildcard characters (*) are allowed. If this parameter is omitted, all workloads are included in the report.

POLICY=

specifies one or more policy names that are to be included in the Policy Summary Report

This parameter permits up to 32 names, enclosed in parentheses and separated by commas. Wildcard characters (*) are allowed. If this parameter is omitted, all service policies are included in the report.

Examples

The following examples illustrate the use of the WLMGL control statement.

Example
WLMGL

This example produces the Goal Activity Map section of the Workload Manager Goal Mode Activity Report.

Example
WLMGL TYPE=ALL,PERIOD=WEEK

This example produces all sections of the Workload Manager Goal Mode Activity Report. The Goal Activity Map section and the Goal Mode Delay Map section are produced with values averaged over each two-hour period of the week.

Example
WLMGL TYPE=DELAY,PERIOD=MONTH

This example produces the Goal Mode Delay Map section of the Workload Manager Goal Mode Activity Report. This map is produced with values averaged over each eight-hour period of the month.
