Using advisors

This topic provides information about advisors that provide tuning advice that is not included in the BMC AMI Pool Advisor for Db2 documentation.

Background advisors

The following individual component advisors monitor the main BMC System Performance for Db2 data groups:

  • Thread Environment Advisor
  • DDF Environment Advisor
  • Log Environment
  • Maximum Data Sets Advisor

Executing a rule

If BMC System Performance for Db2 is able to issue a command to implement a recommendation, you can immediately execute it.

The OPERTUNE for DB2 component is used to issue commands to modify ZPARM values.

To execute the command

Click EXEC on the Pending action list.

Note

If a command cannot be executed by System Performance, the word EXEC is not underscored.

The following figure is displayed when a command is executed.
