MSG events

BMC II for z/OS categorizes each WTO or WTOR message as an MSG event type.

When a WTOR triggers an event type MSG Rule, the following statements provide a context for the message:

  • If you use IMFTEXT, the reply ID is removed from the message.
  • WORD1 is the first word after the reply ID.
  • TEXT ID is the first word after the reply ID.
  • TEXT STRING does not include the reply ID.

Example

The following WTOR appears in the SYSLOG:

0888 IEE094D SPECIFY OPERAND(S) FOR DUMP COMMAND

0888 signifies the reply ID that prefixes the actual message and is not part of the text. IEE094D represents both WORD1 and the TEXT ID.

BMC II for z/OS categorizes multiline WTO (MLWTO) messages as either MSGa or MSGs event types, which represent subsets of MSG events.
