Variable modifiers
You can use variable modifiers to further define a variable within an Impact Rule.
By appending a modifier to the end of a variable, you can perform certain operations on its contents before the variable is evaluated.
Currently, two operations can be performed:
- Substringing
- Trimming
Substringing and trimming techniques further increase the power of a Rule and allow even more tasks to be accomplished. Both simple variables and compound provide you with the ability to use these operations.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
