Installing the BMC Discovery for z/OS agent

Install the BMC Discovery for z/OS Agent on z/OS by using the Installation System as described in the MainView Installation Guide.

Warning

Note

For installations into a new environment, there are no special considerations, but use caution when installing the product in an existing MainView environment; if your existing infrastructure is at an earlier level than the infrastructure distributed with BMC Discovery for z/OS (MainView Infrastructure 6.0), it will get updated automatically.

BMC provides AutoCustomization procedures, described in the MainView Installation Guide, that help you tailor the environment automatically. If you have already tailored your products by using AutoCustomization, you can skip this section that describes the steps for tailoring the BMC Discovery for z/OS environment manually. If you need any help during AutoCustomization, you can refer to the manual customization descriptions in this section.
