Post-installation check for service registry


After installing and configuring theBMC AMI Ops User Interface, it is important to verify that all the installation services are registered properly.

We recommend that you perform the following post-installation check to make sure that all the installation services are registered. You can perform this check for any of the following products:

  • BMC AMI Ops User Interface
  • BMC AMI Ops Insight

To check if the services are registered

  1. Go to theBMC AMI Ops UI Discovery server home page by entering the following URL:
    http://<BMC AMI Ops UI Discovery server-host>:<BMC AMI Ops UI Discovery server-port>
    Use the relevant Server Host and Server Port values.
  2. On the home page, under Instances currently registered with Eureka, make sure that all the services that you have installed are listed.
    Depending on your installation, the following services should be listed:
    • OPS-DISCOVERY-SERVICE for BMC AMI Ops UI Discovery server
    • OPS-APP-SERVER for BMC AMI Ops UI Server
    • OPS-MONITOR-SERVICE for BMC AMI Ops Monitor
    • OPS-ANALYTICS-DATASTORE for BMC AMI Ops Analytics Datastore
    • OPS-ANALYTICS-AGENT  for BMC AMI Ops Analytics Agent
    • AMI-OI-SERVICE for BMC AMI Ops Insight
  3. If the installed service is listed, the service has been registered successfully. 
  4. If the installed service is not listed, the service was not registered successfully. 
    To ascertain the exact reason for the service registry failure, go to the USS file system of the missing service host. Under the installed path, you can find the relevant logs with details related to the registry failure.
