Enabling BMC AMI Assistant


The BMC AMI Assistant uses generative AI (GenAI) to solve challenging problems, bridge knowledge gaps, and accelerate innovation. It is currently activated for BMC AMI Ops User Interface and BMC AMI Ops Insight products.

To set up and enable BMC AMI Assistant

Before setting up BMC AMI Assistant you need the unique API token key. To get the API token key, seeUsers.

  1. Add the following BMC AMI Assistant server URL and the API token key to the installation directory opsappcustom.properties file:  
    • ami.assistant.server.url=<BMC AMI Assistant URL: <protocol>://<host>:<port>>
      For example, https://xxx-tst-x6x33xx.bmc.com:00000
    • ami.assistant.server.integrationkey=<API token key>
      For example, xxAxxxCx50x_-23OXxx0FExXXX-4yYY8xx
    • ami.assistant.shared.history=true
      To see the BMC AMI Assistant chat history, the value should be true

Important

If the BMC AMI Assistant is running in SSL/TLS mode, import the client certificate of BMC AMI Assistant into the truststore defined in AMICMNEV member of the &HLQ.UBBSAMP data set.  

  1. Restart the BMC AMI Ops UI Server started task.
