Starting and stopping analytics components


This topic describes how to start and stop the BMC AMI Ops Analytics Datastore and BMC AMI Ops Analytics Agent components.

Important

The stop and start functions are available after the product installation is complete. 

To start BMC AMI Ops Analytics Datastore

  1. Login to the host on which the BMC AMI Ops Analytics Datastore server is installed.
  2. Navigate to the installDirectory/bin directory.
  3. Run ./startDataStore.sh.

    Important

    If using BMC AMI Ops Analytics Datastore on zCX, run ./start.

This command starts all instances of BMC AMI Ops Analytics Datastore that are in Stop status.

To stop BMC AMI Ops Analytics Datastore

  1. Login to the host on which the BMC AMI Ops Analytics Datastore server is installed.
  2. Navigate to the installDirectory/bin directory.
  3. Run ./stopDataStore.sh.

    Important

    If using BMC AMI Ops Analytics Datastore on zCX, run ./stop.

    You get the following prompt:

    Running Analytics DataStore instances:
    amiads03
    amiads02
    amiads01
    Enter Analytics DataStore instance name or '[A]ll' to stop all instances:
  4. Perform one of the following actions to stop the BMC AMI Ops Analytics Datastore instances:
    • Enter a specific instance name to stop it. For example, amiads03.
    • Enter A to stop all the instances.

To start BMC AMI Ops Analytics Agent

  1. Login to the host on which the BMC AMI Ops Analytics Agent server is installed.
  2. Run systemctl start BMC-AMI-OpsAnalyticsAgent.service.

To stop BMC AMI Ops Analytics Agent

  1. Login to the host on which the BMC AMI Ops Analytics Agent server is installed.
  2. Run systemctl start BMC-AMI-OpsAnalyticsAgent.service.

To stop BMC AMI Ops Analytics Agent, run systemctl stop BMC-AMI-OpsAnalyticsAgent.service.

To check the status of the agent, you can also run systemctl status BMC-AMI-OpsAnalyticsAgent.service command.
