Important

If you do not have OpsM for z/OS and BMC AMI Ops Monitor for CMF installed, the RMF-like Menus option is not available to you, and the note * – CMF Only appears on your menu.

Options on this menu are grouped into two categories:

  • Activity options
Activity options display submenus that give you an overview of a particular aspect of your system’s performance. From these overview submenus, you can selectively display information about a particular element by hyperlinking to a menu that is specific to the element.
  • Utilities options
Utilities options display submenus from which you can access a variety of information.

In addition, this menu, as well as a number of other menu views, offer you different ways (time frames) to display menu options:

  • Interval data—cumulative information since the completion of the last full interval
By default, this menu displays interval data (Time frame - Interval) options. If you have switched to another time frame and want to return to the interval data menu, select the View Interval Menu option at the top of the panel to see the EZMZOS menu
Real-time data—information as it exists at the moment of inquiry
  • If you want to see which options display realtime data (Time frame - RealTime), select the View RealTime Menu option at the top of the panel to see the EZMZOSR menu.
  • Long-term data—information from one or more intervals
Because the default interval is 15 minutes, the smallest duration that a long-term interval can be is 16 minutes; the maximum duration for a long-term interval is 6 hours. The long-term interval characteristics are defined in BBPARM library member BBDTLTDC.If you want to see which options display long-term data (Time frame - LongTerm), select the View LongTerm Menu option at the top of the panel to see the EZMZOSL menu.

    Tip

To see a list of all long-term views in OpsM for z/OS, type LONGTERM on the command line.

  • Short-term data—information from one or more short-term intervals
A short-term interval is 15, 30, or 60 seconds long. The short-term interval characteristics are defined in BBPARM library member BBDTSTxx.
If you want to see which options display short-term data (Time frame – ShortTerm), select the View ShortTerm Menu option at the top of the panel to see the EZMZOSS menu. For more information, see Setting-up-short-term-history-data-collection-optional.

    Tip
