Watching file systems
You can identify file systems that are critical and should be active at certain times.
These watched file systems are continually monitored and data about them is recorded in the history file and then displayed in the FSWATCHZ and FSWATCH views.

Watched file systems are defined in the BBPARM member BBUTSHxx by using the FSSTAT, HFSSTAT, and ZFSSTAT views, as described in the following sections.
To watch a file system
Display the FSSTAT (see the following figure), HFSSTAT, or ZFSSTAT view, depending on the type of file system you want to watch.

HELP to view related help- In the MVS File Pattern field, type the name of the file system to be watched.Watched file system names cannot contain masking characters, but they can contain system symbols. For example, USS.&SYSNAME..VAR might resolve to USS.SJSC.VAR.
- (optional ) In the Start Time and End Time fields, enter the time period in which the file should be mounted.The default time period is 0000-2329.
- (optional ) Specify the system ID on which the required file system should be running, and an optional mount point.
Save your changes to add the file system name to the BBUTSHxx member and the FSWATCHZ and FSWATCH views.
To delete a watched file system
On FSSTAT, HFSSTAT, or ZFSSTAT view, use the D line command.The file system is removed from the BBUTSHxx member and the FSWATCHZ and FSWATCH views.
To add a watched file system dynamically
You can dynamically add a file system to the FSWATCHZ and FSWATCH views without updating the BBUTSHxx member. These file systems are watched only until the PAS is shut down.
On the FS view, use the W line command or just click on a file system name.
To remove a watched file system dynamically
You can dynamically remove a file system from the FSWATCHZ and FSWATCH views without updating the BBUTSHxx member.
On the FSWATCHZ and FSWATCH view, use the RM line command.
