Input and output for JSON report

The input to the PRSJSON is the CSV report that is generated as part of the PRICSV process. You can use the JCL and control cards from the FLDSELCT DD input file to customize the output. You can change the flag on column 23 to Y for each control card in the FLDSELCT DD input file for any field that you want to include in the report. After you have customized the JCL, PRSICSV processes the TAR records on the IRUF file and reports the selected TAR fields to a PS file in CSV format. When the JSON format report is chosen, the generated CSV report will serve as input for the PRSJSON process. This process will subsequently generate the corresponding JSON format report and save it to a PS file.

Tip

You should save your FLDSELCT DD selections in a personal data set for any report that you plan to use frequently. Then, you can specify your saved data set in the JCL generator panel to use the same field specifications for subsequent reports.

The output consists of selected TAR fields in JSON format for each TAR record on IRUF.

You can publish the report in the following formats:

  • Physical sequential files available for 3270 viewing
  • A JSON-formatted file sent to specific email addresses for viewing as a JSON report (.json format). This file can be used in any JSON viewers or parsers to examine the structured data comprehensively.
