Generating install or unistall JCL

Warning

Important

When upgrading or downgrading to a different release of BMC AMI Ops for IMS, you must restart your IMS control region.
The dynamic uninstall and install feature does not successfully upgrade or downgrade to a different release of BMC AMI Ops for IMS.
Unless otherwise outlined (e.g. in a SMP/E Hold), the feature is intended for activating maintenance provided by PTFs in the IMS control region dynamically.

Accessing-the-JCL-Generator

You can generate JCL to install or uninstall BMC AMI Ops Monitor for IMS Offline, BMC AMI Ops Automation for IMS or both in an active IMS System. By utilizing this JCL, you can apply maintenance without having to stop and restart IMS.

  1. From the MVIMS JCL Generator Menu, select DYN INSTALL.

  2. The MVIMS Dynamic Install/Uninstall Menu displays as shown:

  3. Enter the information in the applicable fields.The following table describes the fields:

    Select the type of JCL to generate, either INSTALL or UNINSTALL

    Select Component

    Select from the following components:

    • EC – MVIMS Event Collector
    • IOA – BMC AMI Ops Automation
    • ECAO – Both

    BBLINKP DSN

    Dataset name of your BBLINKP

    IMSID

    4-character ID of IMS

    IMFLOAD DSN

    Install loadlib

    IMFPARM1-5

    BBPARM datasets

    At least one dataset is required.

    BMCPSWDF DSN

    The BMC password dataset

    RESLIB DSN

    Name of your SDFSRESL dataset

  4. When finished, press Enter to either generate the JCL .

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
