JCL Generator


The JCL Generator is an online CLIST that generates JCL. This section provides an overview of how to use the JCL Generator utilities.

The options on the JCL Generator menu collect information that is used to generate the JCL for the functions performed by BMC AMI Ops Monitor for IMS Offline.

You can use the JCL Generator to perform the following tasks:

  • SETUP (Option 0) - Define variables for JCL Generation
  • IRUF (Option 1) - IRUF Utilities
    • Create a detailed IRUF
    • Create a summarized IRUF
    • Create an extracted IRUF
    • Create Performance Reporter and Transaction Accountant reports
    • Print IRUF records
    • Create daily, weekly or monthly summarized IRUFs
  • Reports (Option 2) - Offline Performance Reporter
    • Automatically generate JCL for reports
    • Control individual or multiple submission of reports for each job
  • TRACE (Option 3) - Trace Utilities
    • Create a TLDS from an IMS log
    • Unload and archive a TLDS
    • Restore an archived TLDS
    • Print the TLDS
    • Create a new trace directory
    • Manage trace directories
  • DYN INSTALL (Option 4) - Dynamic Install/Uninstall of EC and/or AO
    • Generate JCL to install or uninstall BMC AMI Ops Monitor for IMS Offline, BMC AMI Ops Automation for IMS in an active IMS system
    • Apply maintenance without having to start and restart IMS
