Reporting from Db2 tables

Reporting from the performance data tables within Performance Reporter is available via the supplied reporting job DPRREPT, which runs SQL queries.

Related topic

You can alter the supplied queries or create others for specific reporting requirements, or use any in-house Db2 query tool. As voluminous accounting data is usually summarized before loading, reports for longer time periods are easier to produce from the raw input data.

All DPCSxxxx (Create Tablespace) and DPCTxxxx (Create Table) members have been updated to specify DEFINE NO for the creation of the tablespaces and indexes.

When using DEFINE NO the data sets are not created until data is inserted into the tablespace.

DEFINE NO is applicable only for Db2-managed data sets (USING STOGROUP is specified). DEFINE NO is ignored for user-managed data sets (USING VCAT is specified). Db2 uses the SPACE column in catalog table SYSTABLEPART to record the status of the data sets (undefined or allocated).

Important

Consider creating these tables in one Db2 to centralize historical data from many Db2 subsystems. It is not necessary to define these tables in each Db2 being monitored.

The following table lists by default the name of each of the tables that can be created in Performance Reporter, and the related BBPARM and BBSAMP members.

  1. Add the DMRPR.DMRDGPDT table only if you require the dynamic and group buffer pool attribute data. The dynamic buffer pool attribute (IFCID 202) and group buffer pool attribute (IFCID 230) contain a large volume of data. Loading the data into this table results in high CPU and DASD space consumption.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
