Viewing application traces
Use the following procedures to view an application trace. A current application trace can be viewed by selecting an active or complete trace (if still active, only completed threads are shown).
To view a current application trace
- Use one of the following methods:
- Select Current Traces on EZDB2.
- Select Traces - Current / ST on EZDBA.
- Type CT on the COMMAND line.
- Use the S line command to select the LTRAC display of trace entries in the online buffers for one trace.
To view a historical application trace
- Use one of the following methods:
- Select Traces - History Admin on EZDBA.
- Type HT on the COMMAND line.
Use the S line command to select the LTRAC display of trace entries in a trace log data set.A currently active thread that is being traced can be viewed by EXPANDing from the DUSER display to view the trace events (UTRAC display).
- Position the cursor on UTRAC in the EXPAND line of the DUSER display or on any line in the body of the display and press Enter to view all the traced events of the current active thread for a specified user (see UTRAC-User-Detail-Trace).
If a trace is active for that thread, the DUSER resource analyzer display shows an EXPAND FOR DETAIL TRACE message.
