Exception threshold management

The product provides default definitions for exception element thresholds and saves them for updating in a separate

BMC AMI Ops Monitor for Db2

dynamic threshold set. This enables centralized online customization as needed.

To see a list of all of the exception elements and the distributed thresholds, go to the PLEX Manager EZPLEX menu. Select Dynamic Threshold Sets and enter the following filters:

Field name

Filter

Product

MVDB2

Table

Shorttermstats

The distributed thresholds per element are found in threshold set $BMCDEFAULT$. Any site updates will be in a new threshold set for Table Shorttermstats.

Warning

Note

These definitions are typically managed by the BMC AMI OpsM for Db2 administrator, not by each user of the product

The interval history data includes the thresholds in effect at that time, the measured values, and the count of exceptions.

Many of the health metrics are the same Best Practices elements defined for Threshold Advisor analytics (based on the standard 15-minute statistics). Consider recommended values from Threshold Advisor when customizing the health exception thresholds to your environment.
