ASMDATA

The ASMDATA control statement causes the BMC AMI Ops Monitor for CMF Extractor to collect auxiliary storage management (ASM) data, including information about the I/O activity of page data sets and ASM data constants.

Monitoring modes

One ASMDATA statement can be specified for each monitoring mode, continuous (CPM) or intermittent (IPM).

Sampler and record types

The ASMDATA statement controls the ASMS sampler, which produces SMF type 75 records and CMF type 240-02 and 240-09 user records.

The ASMDATA control statement must be defined in the CMF Extractor JCL for BMC AMI Ops Monitor for z/OS.

Parameters

The parameter for the ASMDATA control statement is

SAMPLE=

specifies the number of milliseconds between data gathering cycles for the ASM data being sampled

The default is 1000 or one second. Acceptable values are 20 to 9999.

Example

ASMDATA  SAMPLE=2000

Instructs the CMF Extractor to sample ASM data every 2000 milliseconds or once every two seconds.
