System Summary section field descriptions
The table below describes each field in the System Summary section of the Cross-System Coupling Facility Report.
Field | Description | |
---|---|---|
FROM SYSTEM | System from which the message originated (for internal messages this is the same as the TO SYSTEM) | |
TO SYSTEM | System to which the message is sent (for internal messages this is the same as the FROM SYSTEM) | |
TRANSPORT CLASS | Transport class name as defined to XCF An asterisk is printed to the left of the Transport Class value if, at any time during the reporting interval, the transport class was inactive or its counts were reset by the XCF. | |
BUFFER LENGTH | Size of the message buffer | |
REQUESTS SATISFIED | Number of messages successfully sent where a TRANSPORT CLASS received a TO SYSTEM message that originated from its own FROM SYSTEM | |
BUFFER EFFICIENCY PERCENTAGES | Information under this section head is related to buffer efficiency:
| |
MESSAGES MIGRATED TO ALT PATH | Number of messages migrated to an alternate path because the designated primary path was not available | |
MESSAGES REJECTED | Number of messages rejected due to an XCF failure to obtain sufficient buffer space |
Path Utilization Section field descriptions
The table below describes each field in the Path Utilization Section of the Cross-System Coupling Facility Report:
Field | Description | |
---|---|---|
FROM SYSTEM | System from which the message originated (for internal messages this is the same as the TO SYSTEM) | |
TO SYSTEM | System to which the message is sent (for internal messages this is the same as the FROM SYSTEM) | |
TRANSPORT CLASS | Transport class name as defined to XCF Information not available for an inbound path is marked with <INBOUND> in that column for all inbound paths. | |
FROM-TO DEVICE/STRUCTURE | Address of the CTC devices from which and to which messages are sent along this path, or the name of the coupling facility structure used to send messages | |
REQUEST COUNT | Number of messages successfully sent on this path | |
Q LNTH | Average number of messages that had to wait to be sent along this path for outbound paths | |
XFR TIME | Average I/O time, in milliseconds, for the most recently received signals (within the last 35 minutes) on inbound paths | |
PERFORMANCE % | Information under this section is related to XCF message sending performance:
| |
NO BUFFER | No-buffer condition for an inbound path that impeded a signal transfer:
| |
UTILIZATION | Path utilization Inbound signals are read in buckets of up-to four signals. If 1/2/3/4 signals are read, the path is considered at 25/50/75/100% utilization.
|
Detail Report section field descriptions
The table below describes each field in the Detail Report section of the Cross-System Coupling Facility Report.
Field | Description | |
---|---|---|
SYSTEM | System on which this path, group, and member is defined | |
GROUP | Group to which the member is assigned | |
MEMBER | Member name | |
MESSAGES RECEIVED | Information under this section header is related to the number of XCF messages that were received by members:
| |
MESSAGES SENT | Information under this section header is related to the number of XCF messages that were sent for members:
| |
MEMBER STATUS | Status of the member during the recording interval Members can be Active, Partially Activated, Re-activated, or De-activated. |
