Resetting the CMRSOPT

You can dynamically reset the CMRSOPT settings with the .RESET command.

The following command resets monitoring options for all IBM CICS regions:

.RESET PARM CMRSOPT ALL

The following command resets monitoring options that apply to a specific CICS region.

.RESET PARM CMRSOPT cicsName

For more information about the RESET command and its parameters, see BBI control commands.

You can also reset the CMRSOPT options with the SRL command on the CREAGT view. For more information, see CREGAGT-view-commands

When you use the SRL command to reset the CMRSOPT options, data collection is stopped and restarted.

Warning

Important

The CMRSOPT is refreshed under the following situations:

  • The PAS is recycled
  • You issue the .E PARM,CMRSOPT command
  • You issue the SRL command in the CREGAGT view
  • There is an FST2 INIT after an FST2 TERM
  • You issue the FST2 RES command
  • The IBM CICS region is recycled

The agent status (extractor, any resource collections, kill-exit) does not change due to a recycled PAS or FST2 TERM (without CICS being recycled). The status of these agents is preserved in a TSQUEUE at FST2 TERM and is used at FST2 INIT unless the SSID field in the TSQUEUE is blank. A blank SSID field indicates that the CICS was not connected to a PAS at the time of the last FST2 TERM. In that case, agent startup uses the CMRSOPT settings.
