Exclude records

The value in the Exclude Count field determines how many records to exclude (that is, reject because they do not match the selection criteria) per IBM CICS during the search.

When this value is reached, record collection ends (and matching records are displayed in the CHIST view) regardless of whether or not all the records specified by the search period have been searched.

Records might be excluded because of criteria that is entered in the CHISTORY dialog.

If the Exclude Count field is left blank, the value in the Default field (default) is used. If a count greater than the value in the Maximum field is used, the value in the Maximum field is used instead.

The values for Default and Maximum fields are taken from BBIPROF member BDR#DEF. The BDR#DEF parameter DEFEXC determines the value in the Default field. Initially it is set to 2000 (the default). The MAXEXC parameter determines the value in the Maximum field. Initially it is set to 10000 (also the default). If BDR#DEF is not found in BBIPROF, the default is used.

For more information about changing the BDR#DEF member, see Customizing after installation.

Note

If an interval is specified in the Summary Interval field, the Exclude Count field is ignored.

The CTGHSTRY dialog shares the same BDR#DEF member settings.
