CMRDTN view

This feature is available only if you have are licensed for the BMC AMI Ops for CICS solution. 

The Dynamic Tuning (DTN) facility enables BMC AMI Ops Monitor for CICS along with the Alarm component of BMC AMI Ops Infrastructure and BMC AMI Ops Automation for CICS to dynamically alter the resource attributes for the following items:

  • Db2 Connection (DB2CON) attributes values for TCBLIMIT and THREADLIMT, which DTN monitors via the CDB2CON view
  • MXT (MAXTASK) in IBM CICS that is defined in the SIT, which DTN monitors via the CTRNCLA view under transaction class DFHTCL00

By default, the function is disabled. For more information about implementing the Dynamic Tuning facility, see Implementing-Dynamic-Tuning-for-IBM-CICS-resource-attributes. 

The CMRDTN family of views contain the controlling parameters for Dynamic Tuning based on target groups. Use the CMRDTN views and dialogs to specify a group of targets that you want to control. For each target group, you can define one DB2CON parameter group and one MXT parameter group.

Each parameter group has two categories of parameters that you can set:

  • Criteria parameters where you specify the criteria that current conditions must meet before Dynamic Tuning calculates the desired increased value to the corresponding attribute.
  • Action parameters where you to specify the adjustment percent of the original value and the maximum resulting value after each adjustment.

BMC AMI Ops Monitor for CICS saves these definitions in BBPARM member CMRDTNnn in the first concatenation of the BBIPARM DD in the BBI-SS PAS. The default member name is CMRDTN00. To use other CMRDTNnn members, see BBIBBCFG parameters. When Dynamic Tuning is enabled, you must define the current CICS target name in CMRDTNnn (either explicitly or by wildcard) to activate Dynamic Tuning for that target.
