Step 6: Modify the MCT (required)

You must modify the IBM CICS MCT to include the BMC area.

The BMC area is required for full operation of all BMC AMI Ops Monitor for CICS data collection agents.  If the BMC MCT area is not provided, BMC AMI OpsM for CICS will run in a limited mode.  This means the BMC AMI OpsM for CICS performance data collector processes the CICS 110 SMF performance record, the CICS RMI data (if available), and the CICS TCP/IP data (if available).  No other BMC AMI OpsM for CICS resource data collectors will be activated.

To provide the MCT modification, you must perform the following steps:

  1. Add the BMC MCT definition provided in BBSAMP member CMRMVMCT to the MCT program used by the CICS targets.
  2. Assemble and link the new MCT, DFHMCTnn, where nn is your site’s MCT designation.
  3. Assure that the CICS SIT parameters specify MCT=nn so the correct MCT is loaded and referenced.
  4. Start (or restart) the CICS region.
