Standard implementation procedures

This section describes the procedures that are required to implement functions between a BBI-SS PAS and an IBM CICS region for the first time, or to implement auto maintenance.

If you are upgrading BMC AMI Ops Monitor for CICS or BMC AMI Ops Automation for CICS and have already implemented auto maintenance, these procedures do not have to be repeated.

The BMC AMI OpsM for CICS auto maintenance facility enables most software upgrades to be applied to the product without restarting target CICS systems. Implementing auto maintenance requires modifications to the CICS CSD, CICS PLT and SIT, and to the BBI-SS JCL. For more information, see Completing-implementation.

When the modifications are completed, you can use the facility to apply updates and patches to BMC AMI OpsM for CICS. For more information, see Using-the-auto-maintenance-facility.
