CICS Transaction Gateway monitoring

This section describes the

BMC AMI Ops Monitor for CICS

support for monitoring the IBM CICS Transaction Gateway and includes the following sections:

Overview of the CICS Transaction Gateway

The CICS Transaction Gateway (CTG) provides Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and J2EE standards-based access to CICS applications.

The BMC AMI OpsM for CICS product supports the CICS Transaction Gateway with the following view sets:

  • CTGDASH – CICS Transaction Gateway server (interval) data
  • CTGSERV – CICS Transaction Gateway server data
  • CTGCICS – CICS Transaction Gateway CICS region data
  • CTGLSRV – CICS Transaction Gateway logical server data
  • CTGHIST – CICS Transaction Gateway history data

Data for these views is provided by the CMRCTGH subtask and BMC AMI Ops interval recorder. The interval recorder maintains a CTGSERV record, one or more CTGCICS records, and one or more CTGLSRV records.

Note

For gateway daemons on platforms other than z/OS, BMC AMI OpsM for CICS collects statistics data but not task performance data or CTG history data. Therefore, the following views, which display task performance data and CTG history data, will not contain meaningful data for those gateways:

CTGSERVT, CTGSRV*, CTGCICST, CTGCCS*, CTGHIST*, CTGHCIC*

The following views will display meaningful data for all gateways:

CTGDASH, CTGSERV, CTGSERVZ, CTGSERVQ, CTGSERVD, CTGSERVL, CTGCICS, CTGCICSZ, CTGCICSQ, CTGCICSD, CTGCICSD CTGLSRV, CTGLSRVZ, CTGLSRVQ, CTGLSRVD
