Setting the global sensitivity level

You can set the global sensitivity level for BMC AMI Ops Insight. This changes the global sensitivity level of variance from normal, which triggers notifications for events. This means that if you set the sensitivity to a lower level, you get notifications only if there is a bigger difference between the current metric values and what is identified as normal on your system.

Tip

If you change the sensitivity level for playback runs, you can see how the same playback opens or does not open events based on the different sensitivity levels.

Important

  • You cannot modify the global sensitivity level during a calendar event (Holiday or Enhanced Business Day). For more details about calendar events, see Configuring-the-calendar.
  • If you have set a specific sensitivity level for a model, it is not impacted by the changes to the global sensitivity level.
  1. On the title bar, click Administration Gear Icon.PNG
  2. From the menu on the left of the window, click Scoring Preferences > Global Scoring Sensitivity.

  3. To trigger BMC AMI Ops notifications based on variance from normal, select a sensitivity level from 1 to 100 percent.
A higher model sensitivity detects more potential events; a lower level detects fewer potential events.

    Important

If you change the global sensitivity level, all active events for the current sensitivity level are closed and the scoring restarts to generate new events based on the new sensitivity level.

  4. Click Submit.
  5. Read the confirmation message. If you are sure, click Continue.
