Enabling realtime scoring

On the Realtime Scoring page, you can enable or disable scoring for selected Sysplexes, Db2 data sharing groups, and Db2 subsystems.

Important

BMC AMI Ops Insight does not support the monitoring of Db2 subsystems with the same SSIDs, and LPARs with the same SIDs streaming simultaneously.

You might see the product doing the scoring, but the data might not be accurate.

Before you begin

To enable scoring, you must have projection models available and selected. For more details, see Managing-projection-models.

Important

After a restart, some groups may have a warm up period before giving reliable scores. It is expected for KPI groups such as storage related KPIs to show an abnormal state while the system is warming up after restart . For example, Db2 opens pagesets as the workload requires them, so it may take a while for the system to reach a steady state.

  1. Click the Administration icon Gear Icon.PNG in the title bar.
  2. Click Realtime Mode > Realtime Scoring in the menu on the left side.
The following details are displayed for each Sysplex, Db2 data sharing group, and Db2 subsystems with selected models in your system:

    Field

    Description

    Sysplex / Db2 Data Sharing Group / Db2 Subsystem

Name of the Sysplex, Db2 data sharing group, or Db2 subsystem

    Important

To see the LPARs in a Sysplex, or the Db2 subsystems in a Db2 data sharing group, click the expansion arrow (>) next to the Sysplex or sharing group name.

LPAR Count / Db2 Subsystem Count (Db2 Data Sharing Group only)

Number of LPARs in the Sysplex or Db2 subsystems in the Db2 data sharing group

    Selected Model

Model selected for this Db2 subsystem or LPAR

    Important

To see the Selected Models for a Sysplex or Db2 Data Sharing Group, click the expansion arrow (>) next to the Sysplex name or Db2 Data Sharing Group name.

Model file names are built on the following template:

    bundle_<time>_<Sysplex name>. <LPAR name>_<version>_<day type>.zip

    or

    bundle_<time>_<Db2 data sharing group name>. <Db2 subsystem name>_<version>_<day type>.zip

    time

The time of the generated data in the format YYYY_MM_DD_HH_mm_SS

Sysplex name / Db2 Data Sharing Group name

Name of the Sysplex or Db2 data sharing group

LPAR name / Db2 subsystem name

Name of the LPAR or Db2 subsystem

    version

Version number of the model for this LPAR or Db2 subsystem

    day type

Type of day the model is for
    Possible values are:

    • WD - Week Day
    • WE - Week End

    Example: bundle_2020-01-05_20-56-47_DSNP3G3.D335_1.0.0_WD.zip

This can be one of the following values:

    • Active - Scoring is currently running.
    • Going Active - Scoring will start running on the next ingestion cycle.
    • Going Inactive - Scoring will stop running on the next ingestion cycle.
    • Inactive - Scoring is currently not running.

    Last Edit

Time of the last status change and ID of the user who initiated the change

  3. Click the Scoring switch to toggle scoring on or off for a Db2 data sharing group or Db2 subsystem.
  4. When you are finished making all the changes you want, click Submit_Button.png
The changes will take effect on the next ingestion cycle and the footer displays the message Realtime Scoring Active.

Important

If you restart the BMC AMI Ops Insight web application while scoring is active, scoring continues for any models that are active.
