Configuring the calendar


BMC AMI Ops Insight includes a calendar. On the calendar you can add Business Holidays and Enhanced Business Days. Days that you configure on the calendar are excluded from projections. The application assumes that on these days activity is abnormal. As such, it doesn't project behavior for these days.

Important

Days are calculated according to the local time zone of your Db2.

Use the following procedures to configure your calendar:

To add events

  1. Click the Administration icon Gear Icon.PNG in the title bar. 
  2. Click Scoring Preferences > Calendar in the menu on the left side.
  3. Click New_event_button.png.
  4. Enter the following details:

    Field

    Description

    Title

    Name of the event

    Description

    Description of the event

    Event Dates

    Start and end dates of the event

    Event start and end dates are required. Selected dates are according to the time zone you selected. For more information, see Setting-your-time-zone.

    Event Type

    Type of event

    • Enhanced Business Day – A day when higher than normal activity is likely
    • Holiday – A day when lower than normal activity is likely

    Important

    Event types have no functional difference. Any event is excluded from projections.

    Realtime Scoring

    (For Enhanced Business Days only) Select to allow scoring during the event.

    Model Sensitivity

    Select Low, Medium, or High sensitivity for the selected day. Default value is Low. This option is available only if you turn Realtime Scoring on for the event. The sensitivity level you set here overrides the global sensitivity level. For more details about sensitivity levels, see Setting-the-global-sensitivity-level.

  5. Click Add Event.PNG.

To edit events

  1. Click the Administration icon Gear Icon.PNG in the title bar. 
  2. Click Scoring Preferences > Calendar in the menu on the left side.
  3. Click the pencil icon Pencil.png on the event you want to edit.
  4. Edit the fields.
  5. Click Save_Button.png.

To delete events

  1. Click the Administration icon Gear Icon.PNG in the title bar. 
  2. Click Scoring Preferences > Calendar in the menu on the left side.
  3. Click Delete icon.PNG on the event you want to delete.
  4. When you are prompted, click Continue_button.png.
