ESM resource definitions

The data preparation address space for BMC AMI Ops Insight must be able to retrieve view data from BMC AMI Ops Monitors to provide Detailed Analysis (aka probable cause) capabilities.

The product currently queries for data from the following monitors and infrastructure:

BMC AMI Ops Monitor for Db2 (MVDB2)
BMC AMI Ops Monitor for CICS (MVCICS)
BMC AMI Ops Monitor for z/OS (MVMVS)
BMC AMI Ops Monitor for IMS (MVIMS)
Infrastructure Plex Manager (PLEXMGR)

The following table describes the minimum required access to the BMC AMI Ops Monitor products. The USERID of the Data Preparation address space requires access to the following resources. By default, they are part of the Facility class.

Notes for table

To give generic access to all BMC AMI Ops Monitors, give the USERID associated with the Data Preparation address space READ access to BBM.*.*.*.TA. Otherwise define unique resources for each product listed above and give the Data Preparation address space USERID READ access.
If you have secured queries across sysplexes, the Data Preparation address space requires access. Normally BMC AMI Ops Insight Monitors at least one Sysplex/Db2 Group from a single Data Preparation address space. To provide Detailed Analysis, the Data Preparation address space needs to query your BMC AMI Ops Monitors on any of those systems. This requires cross-LPAR access. You can give the USERID associated with the Data Preparation address space access to any monitor running on any system and then give the USERID read access to BBM.*.*.*.XA. Optionally, you can limit based on product, context, or LPAR.
The product queries your BMC AMI Ops monitors. You can provide access to all monitors and all data or you can limit to specific products and specific records. If you prefer the more restricted access, all products and records that the product currently requests are listed in the table.
