Viewing customized view status

To view the customized view status, the Data Dictionary should be enabled.

Warning

Important

The Data Dictionary is automatically enabled. When you restart your CAS and PAS, an initialization completed message is displayed.

The customized view status can be viewed on CUSTVIEW view. You can access the CUSTVIEW view by issuing CUSTVIEW command. The CUSTVIEW view lists the views that you have customized and saved in the first data set of TSO BBVDEF DD concatenation that are available in the current context and product. To recognize and list a view, the extended directory information is required.

On the CUSTVIEW view, you can compare the current view level of a customized view (View Level field) with the latest distributed view (Base Level field). When the View Level is less than the Base Level, the hyperlink of the View Name column is available. This hyperlink initiates the compare and update process. If the comparison results into new fields (elements), it adds the new fields (elements) at the end of the runtime view definition and displays the messages describing the changes.

For more information, see Updating-the-customized-view-directory.

Warning

Important

When you open the CUSTVIEW view for the first time, there might not be any records. You can issue UPDVDIR command to update the directory of the first dataset of TSO BBVDEF DD concatenation.
