Using distributed alarms
To determine whether a product has distributed alarms
- Access your BMC AMI Ops product.
Type ALRMDIST on the COMMAND line and press Enter.
The ALRMDIST view is displayed with the distributed alarms listed. If no alarms are listed, your product does not have any distributed alarms.

To add a distributed alarm to the alarm definition file system
From the ALRMDIST view, use one of the following commands to add distributed alarms to the alarm definition file system:

ADD primary command | Adds one or more alarms to the alarm definition file system ADD pattern The pattern variable uses the * and ? wild cards to select which alarms to add. For example
The specified alarms are added to the alarm definition file system in the library and group indicated in the ALRMDIST view list. |
A (Add) line command | Adds the selected alarm to the alarm definition file system The selected alarm is added to the alarm definition file system in the library and group indicated in the ALRMDIST view list. Before issuing the line command, you can overtype the library name, group name, or both to specify a different location for the alarm. |
