Creating the started task for the DBC address space
Before you begin
The Logger requires that a DBC address space is running in the LPAR. If a DBC address space is already running, you can skip this section and proceed to the Defining-Next-Generation-Logger-and-Logger-agents section. If a DBC address space is not already running in the LPAR, complete the procedure below.
To create the started task procedure for the DBC address space
- Copy XXSAMP member DBC$STC to SYS1.PROCLIB or another system procedure library.
- Follow the instructions at the top of the member to modify the procedure to your site requirements.
- (Optional) Define the DBC started task procedure to your IPL procedure so that the DBC address space starts at system initialization. For more information about the DBC, see Common mainframe infrastructure.
- Start the DBC started task.
- Proceed to Defining-Next-Generation-Logger-and-Logger-agents.
