Customizing BMC AMI Ops product via EZCONFIG

(BMC.AMIOPS.EZCONFIG)

New users must use EZCONFIG to configure a BMC AMI Ops product to run it in its own PAS after installation. This process enables users to manage product configuration and customization tasks more effectively. Additionally, it reduces the time required for new product installation.

The following BMC AMI Ops products are enabled for EZCONFIG:

  • BMC AMI Ops Automation, which includes the following product options:
    • BMC AMI Ops Automation for CICS
    • BMC AMI Ops Automation for IMS
    • BMC AMI Ops Automation for MQ
    • BMC AMI Ops Automation for z/OS, which is required to use:
      • Total Object Manager
    • BMC AMI Ops Automation Access NV
    • BMC AMI Ops Automation TapeSHARE
  • BMC AMI Ops Automation for Capping
  • BMC AMI Ops Monitor for CICS
  • BMC AMI Ops Monitor for CMF
  • BMC AMI Ops Monitor for Db2
  • BMC AMI Ops Monitor for IMS

  • If you have used the bootstrap version of RTCS during the installation process, copy the data from the bootstrap version to the full-function RTCS. For more information, see Managing the bootstrap RTCS.

Important

Before configuring and customizing any listed products via EZCONFIG, you must install the product using the Installation System version 4.07 or later. We have created the EZCONFIG process for new users to configure the listed products after installation.

  1. On the BMC AMI Ops selection menu, select option P to open PLEX Management (PLEXMGR).
  2. On the EZPLEX menu, under the Administration section, select New Product Configuration, and press Enter.

Important

The following information applies only to the BMC AMI Ops Monitoring solutions products.

You can run only one PAS for any combination of these products.

  • BMC AMI Ops Monitor for z/OS
  • BMC AMI Ops SYSPROG Services
  • BMC AMI Ops Monitor for CMF (CMF)
  • BMC AMI Ops Monitor for UNIX System Services

If BMC AMI Ops Monitor for z/OS is not running with CMF, the following messages are displayed in the PAS log:

BBAPWD02 CMF MONITOR UNABLE TO FIND PASSWORD FOR THIS PRODUCT, INSTALL PASSWORD FOR PRODUCT
*WARNING* CMFCTL10 PRECEDING CONTROL STATEMENT IGNORED BECAUSE CMF MONITOR IS NOT ACTIVE

The BBAPWD02 message can be removed by disabling CMF in UBBPARM(BBATSP00) member,
and the CMFCTL10 warning messages fixed by removing the affected CMF samplers from the UBBPARM(CMFCPM00) member.

Where to go from here
