Viewing the definitions in a CAS member (CASDEF and CASDEFD views)

You can view the definitions defined in a CAS definition member using the following views:

  • CASDEF view displays all CAS definitions for a particular CAS definition member (BBMTYBxx) in your CAS definition parameter (UBBPARM) library.
  • CASDEFD view displays all of the details for a selected CAS definition.

CASDEF view

The CASDEF view, in addition to displaying all of the CAS definitions in a CAS definition member (BBMTYBxx), provides access for editing the definitions in your CAS definition member. For more information, see Editing-CAS-definitions.

To access the CASDEF view

Use one of the following methods to access the CASDEF view:

  • In Plex Manager, type CASDEF on the COMMAND line and press Enter.
  • From any MainView Explorer product that is running in windows mode, use the following CONtext command to access Plex Manager and display the CASDEF view:
    CON * PLEXMGR;CASDEF

The CASDEF view is displayed.

The word Yes in the Cur Sys field identifies the local CAS.

You can scroll to the right to display the remaining fields of the CASDEF view, as shown below.

Important

An optional TCP Encryption parameter enables encryption for CAS-to-CAS, TCP/IP communication. In the CASDEF view, you can verify that encryption is enabled if Y appears under the TCP Encryp column. For information on how to enable TCP/IP encryption, see Adding-CAS-definitions and Changing-existing-CAS-definitions.

For more information about any field in the CASDEF view, place the cursor on the field and press the Help key.

CASDEFD view

The CASDEFD, an information only view, provides all of the details for a selected CAS definition. You can change the selected CAS definition by obtaining an edit lock (see Editing-CAS-definitions) and accessing the Changing-existing-CAS-definitions dialog.

To access the CASDEFD view

Use one of the following methods from within the CASDEF view to access the CASDEFD view:

  • Enter S under CMD, next to the CAS definition you want to see and press Enter.
  • Place the cursor on the CAS definition you want to see and press Enter

The CASDEFD view is displayed.
