Displaying user activity records

(BMC.AMIOPS.SPE2401)

The UACTLOG view displays user activity record.

A user activity record is generated each time a view is displayed or the data on a view is refreshed, either by pressing Enter or via automatic updates. User activity records are also generated each time an alarm is evaluated or a Network View-based API (NVBAPI) is used to retrieve data.

The UACTLOG view includes the following fields:

  • TSO users
  • Views that users access
  • Distributed view names
  • Product names
  • Context names
  • View Table names
  • View types
  • Job names
  • Job numbers
  • ASIDs
  • Refresh time in seconds
  • Log date and time

For more information about any field in the UACTLOG view, place the cursor on the field and press the Help key.

Using this view, administrators can identify the number of users accessing a specific view and views that are frequently used. Administrators can also customize this view to filter, sort, and summarize the data according to their requirements. They can then use this information to determine areas in which users might need training.

The UACTLOG view can be accessed only from the PLEXMGR product.

To display the UACTLOG view

Perform one of the following actions:

  • In Plex Manager, on the COMMAND line, enter UACTLOG and press Enter.
  • Use the following CONtext command to access Plex Manager and display the UACTLOG view:
    CON * PLEXMGR;UACTLOG

Important

  • To display the user activity record in the UACTLOG view, make sure that the connected Logger is up and running. For more information about the Logger, see Managing-the-Logger.
  • You can use the fixed section displayed at the top of the UACTLOG view to select records based on additional parameters. These parameters include the start date and time, end date and time, number of records to be displayed, user ID, view name, and product name.
