Allocating  BMC AMI Ops Automation data sets

Use the following procedure to allocate the BBIDIV data set that is required for BMC AMI Ops Automation.

Tip

This task is required for BMC AMI Ops Automation and does not apply to other products.

Use member DIVDEF to allocate a BBIDIV data set, which is required to operate BMC AMI Ops Automation. This data set stores binary large objects and data across restarts.

Before you begin

  • The BBI-SS PAS must be shut down when the BBIDIV data set is allocated.
  • Each BBI-SS PAS must have its own copy of the BBIDIV data set; it cannot be shared.

To allocate the BBIDIV data set

  1. In BBSAMP member DIVDEF, modify the job statement to your site’s requirements.
  2. Make the following changes to the procedure header:
    1. Change *HILEVEL* to the high-level qualifier for BMC AMI Ops product data sets.
    2. Change *SSID* to the four-character subsystem name.
    3. Change *VOL* to the volume serial number of the DASD volume where the linear data set will be allocated.
  3. Submit the modified job.
