BMC AMI Ops resources

The data that is displayed in 

BMC AMI Ops

 views and the actions that are executed from those views are considered resources. Some resources are common to all 

BMC AMI Ops

 products. Common resources are managed by Plex Manager, which runs in the CAS. Other resources are specific to a 

BMC AMI Ops

 product, which runs in a PAS.

To control access to BMC AMI Ops resources, the resources must be identified to the ESM. The process of identifying resources to the ESM can be simplified by:

  • Exploiting the BMC AMI Ops resource naming convention
  • Using generic (or masking) characters when creating profiles, permits, or rules to control access to the resources
