Saving CAS definitions

To save CAS definition changes to the CAS definition member (BBMTYBxx) in the parameter (UBBPARM) library, use the SAVE command. SAVE can be used at any time while you are in edit mode. For more information about edit mode, see Editing-CAS-definitions.

CAS definition changes include:

  • Saving a new CAS definition to the member
  • Saving changes to an existing CAS definition
  • Deleting a CAS definition from the member

To save a CAS definition

From either the CASDEF or CASDEFD view, enter SAVE on the COMMAND line. The status field on the window information line is changed from (00 EDIT  MOD   ) to (00 EDIT  ). This indicates that the modification was saved but the edit lock is still active.

Notes

  • The SAVE command does not deactivate the edit lock; the CAS definition member will always be in edit mode after using SAVE.

  • You can also use the END command (or its corresponding PF key) to save changes to the CAS definition member. However, the END command does deactivate the edit lock. The status field on the window information line is changed from (00 EDIT  MOD   ) to (00 BROWSE  ). Your modification is saved but you no longer have an edit lock on the member. Once the edit lock is deactivated, any CAS definitions that were deleted from that member cannot be recovered.
