Using the peer review and approval process

You can use the BMC AMI Ops Console Automation Viewer or Legacy Viewer to send commands for review and approval to other operators before submitting them to a session.

Important

Starting from BMC AMI Ops Console Management fixpack version 4.1.01, the peer review requests can be submitted from either the browser-based viewer or the legacy viewer. Earlier, the peer review and approval process could be performed only by using the same type of viewer.

1. Select session list

3. Enable Peer Review check box

4. Select users to review the command icon

The Enable Peer Review option allows you to have your commands reviewed by another operator before sending them to the mainframe.

Important

The default time limit for the review process is 15 minutes, however, it is adjustable by the operator requesting the review.

To enable and use the peer review process

You must perform the following procedure:

  1. Click the Select session list and choose a session.
  2. Enter the command you want to send for review in the Command input field.
  3. Select Enable Peer Review check box to start the peer review mode.
  4. Click the Select users to review the command icon.
The Select users to review the command pop-up window displays all available operators who can conduct the review.
  5. Select an operator to review the commands, and click Submit.
The server forwards the request to the operators who can review and approve the commands. The command input filters can distinguish between the commands that have gone through a peer review and the ones that you have submitted directly.

    Important

The list shows only operators who are connected to the active session that you selected earlier in the procedure.
