System Overview


The System Overview page allows administrators to view the current operational status of the servers and perform other administrative functions. An administrator can also find statistical information on the different types of consoles by expanding each of the console categories.

System Information

The System information section presents local system information such as local system name, it's IP, and resources status like: Disk space, Memory Usage, and CPU usage. You can also find more information on system processes, ports used by servers, and network status.

Description

Disk Space

This tile displays current available information about your local disk.

  • Used
  • Free space

Important

You should monitor the usage and perform log file maintenance when necessary using the configuration page.

Memory usage

This tile displays the amount of system memory being used on your system. 

  • Used
  • Free physical and virtual (swap) memory

Important

If the system is short on memory, the Process information should be used to determine which processes are using the most memory.

CPU usage

The CPU Usage displays the average percentage of the processor busy time observed during the sample interval.

Show Process Information

Displays specific information about the processes and services running on the system. 

Show Server Ports Information

Displays all the TCP/IP server ports that are in use by  BMC AMI Ops Console Management.

Important

This information is useful when configuring firewalls to limit network traffic to the server, or when configuring new CCS or Console Automation servers' listening ports.

Click this link to open a separate window that lists network ports used by the system and services. It highlights in yellow the port usage that may conflict with another service.

Show Network Status

This page describes the network status link.

Click the Show Network Status link to open a separate window listing the output of a number of networking commands showing current configuration and operational statistics.

Console Consolidation Server

The Console Consolidation Server section presents the status, and total session count and status of the console servers. You can perform various of actions such as: Start or Stop a server and view their Logs. You can also navigate to the Consolidation server page and edit the properties of the servers.

Console Automation Server

The Console Automation Server section presents the status, and total session count and status of the Automation servers. You can perform various of actions such as: Start or Stop a server and view its Logs. You can also navigate to the Automation server page and edit the properties of the servers.

The following table describes the UI tiles in the Console Consolidation Server and Console Automation Server sections:

Description

Search by Server name

Use this field to search for a specific server by its name.

All Server Status

Displays the status of the servers.

The All Server Status button is accompanied by the following buttons:

  • Stopped: Click this button to display the servers that are stopped.
  • Active: Click this button to display the servers that are actively running.

Use the system information_console consolidation server_option.pngbutton to perform the following actions on the server: Start, Stop, or show server's Log.

Show more

Increases the number of server records displayed for that section.

Console Management

The Console Management section presents the status of the components of the BMC AMI Ops Console Management products.

The administrator can navigate to the License Manager view or the Authentication Server section by clicking the relevant tile.
