Using advanced techniques with BMC AMI Ops Automation EXECs

This section describes some advanced functions of

BMC AMI Ops Automation

EXECs and describes how to handle EXECs across more than one BBI-SS PAS and target. Any BBI-SS PAS address space can monitor other target systems.

You can also have multiple BBI-SS PAS address spaces communicating with one another.  A target can be any one of the following items:

  • Any ALIAS or TARGET defined in BBPARM member BBIJNT00
  • Any dynamic JNT target supported by the product
  • Any SSID identified in the SUBSYS= parameter in the same BBIJNT00 member and defined within BBINOD00

All targets that are not defined within the same PAS require a VTAM Link be defined and enabled.

Because EXECs can interact with any target that you specify, careful managing of your EXECs across more than one target or BBI-SS PAS becomes very important. For more information about targets and BBI-SS PAS to BBI-SS PAS communication, see Define BBI-SS PAS-to-BBI-SS PAS communication
