Discovering and creating TOM objects
The BMC AMI OpsDiscovery component allows TOM to accumulate a list of software components that are running on your system(s).
To initiate the discovery process, use the DSC line command from the TSYS (TOM Systems) view or click on the hyperlink from the EZTOM menu. You can use the command just once, or you can set up an ASU command to refresh the TDSCOBJS view periodically (even hourly). TOM records an initial list of software and each time the TDSCOBJS view is refreshed, TOM adds any newly discovered software.
From the TDSCOBJS view, you can select all or some of the discovered items, and create objects for TOM to manage or create a demo system to use for testing,
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
