Overview of Rules Management Rules


Read this section to learn basic concepts and terms to help you create and manage Rules-based automation with the Rules Management application. 

The Rules Management application is a windows-based editor that you can use to create, edit, and deploy Rules throughout your sysplex.

Rules Management uses a centralized approach for handling Rules in BMC AMI Ops Automation and it.

  • Supports for more “global” approach to Rules management where Rules are centralized into a repository and can be simply deployed to multiple targets
  • Increases flexibility for creating and managing Rules across your enterprise, which also reduces opportunities for duplicated Rules
  • Is accessible from a web-capable interface so Rules can be managed from the BMC AMI Ops UI (or MainView Explorer), in addition to the 3270 interface
  • Enhances security because the Rules are stored in a Registry 
  • Supports more organizational paradigms
