Mass editing the definition base by using MAMEXPRT

After you have used the Infrastructure Discovery component to discover objects, the objects are written to an object definition base. To perform mass editing of the definition base, you can use the registry export utility, MAMEXPRT.

Important

If you are converting from another availability manager such as Continuous State Manager, you don't need to use the registry export utility (MAMEXPRT). The utilities that you have used for conversion create an output in the same format as MAMEXPRT.

MAMEXPRT provides an easy way to export and import the registry definitions when deploying many object, set, and calendar definitions to remote sysplex definition bases. It creates a modifiable REXX EXEC which you can use to export the registry definitions together, individually, or any combination that you want. You can then run the import EXEC on a BMC AMI Ops Automation PAS to create the object definition base.

To use MAMEXPRT, issue the following command from the BBI-TS primary command line:

%MAMEXPRT TOM(tom_id) TOMPLEX(tomplex_name) SYSPLEX(sysplex_name)

  DEFBASE(object_defbase_name) DSN(output_PDS_name)

  MBR(output_member_name) REUSE(Y)

For more information about how to use MAMEXPRT, see Registry-export-utility.
