Producing audit reports (PTF BQO3978 applied)

TOM enables you to audit changes made to administrative items such as objects and sets and deployed objects or Definition Bases. If the audit function and the Logger are active, you can modify a set of jobs, and use them to extract audit messages from the log, and create audit reports. BMC AMI Ops Automation provides sample jobs in BBSAMP members MAMAUDTD and MAMAUDTR that you can use to create audit reports.

BBSAMP member MAMAUDTD

You can use the JCL in this member to create an audit report for deployment actions. It uses the MAMLXRPT utility to extract records from the log and produce a report showing audit messages related to object or Definition Base deployment. This utility is documented in BBSAMP member MAMAUDTD. You can update the TimeRange=( ) parameter in the input control cards to specify the date and time range.

BBSAMP member MAMAUDTR

You can use the JCL in this member to create an audit report for changes to administrative items such as objects, and sets. It uses the MAMLXRPT utility to extract records from the log and create a report showing audit messages related to changes. The utility is documented in BBSAMP member MAMAUDTR. You can modify the following various parameters to perform the following functions:

  • Modify the TimeRange=( ) parameter in the input control cards to specify the date and time range.
  • Modify the TOMObject=( ) parameter to specify an item name.
  • Modify the UserID=( ) parameter to create a report for only those messages associated with the specified user ID who made the changes.
