GSM object considerations
The Generic Stateless Management (GSM) Extension supports any resource that is not covered or supported by the other Extensions (STM, UPM, and WRM). Generic refers to devices and network nodes. Stateless refers to something that has no detectable state (up or down), such as a system or application command.
You can define GSM objects for VTAM lines, job initiators, printers, tape drives, transactions, connections, application interfaces, file systems, and so on. Some objects might require an Active Check Program (ACP) to detect the state of the resource or item.
