Client-server relationships definition
In a client-server relationship, the client object receives part, but not all, of its service from a server object. In this relationship, the server object can be stopped without stopping the client object. For example, a server named DB2 could be stopped without stopping a client CICS.
Client-server relationships are useful because TOM will execute the client's specified connect/disconnect command(s) when the client is started/stopped and the server is in ACTIVE status. TOM will also execute the connect/disconnect command(s) when the client is in ACTIVE status and the server is started/stopped.
