Modifying DSIPARM member CNMCMDU

BMC AMI Ops Automation Access NV uses two command processors that must be defined to NetView in the CNMCMDUmember in the DSIPARM data set.

Modify the DSIPARM member CNMCMDU  by appending the contents of BBSAMP member NAICMDS to the end of your existing CNMCMDU member.

This action adds definitions for the three NetView command processors that are used by NAIEXEC, AOEXEC and NAISTUB.

We recommend using AOEXEC as a more efficient alternative to using NAIEXEC for performing automation tasks from the NetView address space. Using this command does not require the use of CSA storage which NAIEXEC does. It also allows greater portability because the same NetView EXEC that is used to invoke AOEXEC can also be invoked from TSO or other BMC AMI Ops Automation address spaces.

Important

Do not attempt to use REXX LINKMVS to invoke AOEXEC. The AOEXEC fails and you will receive a return code of 54.

For more information about the functions of AOEXEC, see the Using-advanced-automation-with-BMC-AMI-Ops-Automation.
