Description

Automation Stats

AUTOSTAT

Shows a real-time view of automation in the BBI-SS PAS

This data is taken from the information of several Rules Processor panels and collected in this view.

Additional values for Rules, Events, EXECs, and the Shared Object Facility are provided on a detail view.

Current Resource Usage

RESUSE

Shows the current use of various system resources

Some of the resource usage numbers shown in this view are as follows:

  • Private Storage Above and Below the line
  • CSA/ECSA PQE counts and bytes
  • CSA used for variables
  • CPU seconds used
  • EXCP count

CPU Usage by TCB

TCBCPU

Shows real-time CPU time usage by each of the TCBs in the BMC AMI Ops Automation PAS since the PAS was last started

EXEC Manager Stats

EXECMGR

Shows a variety of information about the EXEC Manager component of BMC AMI OpsA including the current settings for MAXNORM and MAXHIGH that control the number of EXECs that can run concurrently as well as the totals for what is currently running or queued to run

List of All EXECs

ALLEXECs

Shows a list of all available EXECs that could run in this PAS based upon EXECs visible in the fullscreen EXEC Manager application. Statistics and general information is shown for each EXEC including its name and current status.

Health Metrics

HEALTH

Shows real-time metrics that can be used to gauge the overall health or status of the BMC AMI OpsA PAS

The view includes metrics such as:

  • Percent of private storage below the 16MB line that is in use
  • Percent of private storage above the 16MB line that is in use
  • High-water-mark (HWM) of PQEs allocated as a percentage of the MAXPQE value
  • Current number of allocated PQEs as a percentage of the MAXPQE value
  • Number of High Priority EXECs currently queued
  • Number of Normal Priority EXECs currently queued
  • The number of log datasets currently known to the BMC AMI Ops Logger register
  • Rules Engine status
  • BBI-SS Journal status

Time Init Automation

TI

(BMC.AMIOPS.SPE2110)

Shows a list of EXEC (CALLX) requests that have been defined. Each request shows its current status along with information about when and how often it will be scheduled. Also shows the status of TIME-initiated Rules that are running in the PAS.

For more information, see Requesting-TIME-initiated-EXECs-with-the-TIMEXEC-application.

Rules Management

varies

Switches to full-screen mode and displays the BMC AMI OpsA Automation Control panel where you can edit Rules and Rule Sets or, launches the EZAORUL menu if the PAS is running with a Rule Registry in FULL or ADMIN mode.

All Rules in Rule Sets

ALLRULES

Displays a list of all of the Rules in all of the Rule Sets in the target BMC AMI OpsA PAS

The Rules are listed in the same order that the BMC AMI OpsA Rules uses to evaluate incoming events for automation.

Event Candidate List

AOEVENTS

Shows a tabular view that contains same data as the full-screen panel named Rules Processor Event Activity Statistics

You can add new Rules from this view by placing the cursor under a message and pressing Enter. The Rule Processor Detail Control panel is displayed where you can create a Rule for the message ID.

The windows mode view is presorted to show the most active messages first and shows messages in user-defined colors that denote four thresholds of activity. This view is also capable of showing more of the message without scrolling left and right.

Shared Object Facility

SHRDOBJ

Shows a tabular view that contains the same data as the full-screen panel named Shared Object Facility

This view provides a line command to delete members and a line command to view the contents of an array.

Failure Data

ARYMGR

Shows data from the selected array that is stored in the Shared Object Facility in BMC AMI OpsA. The array data is arranged in columns and rows to match the array definition.

A maximum of 60 columns of data can be displayed and all column data is truncated at a maximum of 40 characters of data. Use the Browse or Edit line command to see the full contents of a truncated data field.

You can customize this view with the CUST command but the following restrictions apply:

  • To retain and use a customized view, you must save the customized view with a name other than ARYMGR. If you use ARYMGR, the customization(s) are ignored.
  • Once a customized view is saved, you can use it only with the array that was in use during the customization. Using the customized view with another array causes erroneous data in the display.
  • To use a customized ARYMGR view, you must do one of the following:
    • Type the name of the customized view on the command line followed by the name of the array to be used
    • Customize the SHRDOBJ view to add custom hyperlink on the Member Name column (column A for each array that has a customized view. The following is an example of a custom hyperlink:
      A = 'myarrayname' VIEW myviewname A
