Starting EIM


After customizing the EIM solution, use the following procedures to start the solution. You will modify the 

BMC AMI Ops Automation

 start procedure JCL, activate the EIM Rule Set, and restart the PAS.

To modify the start procedure

  1. Add the following statement to the STEPLIB concatenation in the BMC AMI OpsA started procedure JCL:

    //         DD  DSN=HLQ.XXLINK,DISP=SHR

    You can view an example of the JCL inHLQ.BBSAMP(EIMJCL)

  2. Add the DDname for the AISZPRT, as follows:

    //AISZPRT DD SYSOUT=*,DCB=BLKSIZE=1330

    If you start the BMC AMI OpsA PAS started procedure JCL with SUB=MSTR specified, change the AISZPRT DD name to:

    //AISZPRT DD SYSOUT=DUMMY,DCB=BLKSIZE=1330

To activate the EIM Rule Set and restart the PAS

  1. Update BBPARM member AAOPRMxx to set the Rule strategy and specify the EIM solution Rule Set:
    1. Enter the suffix TK for the AAORULTK Rule Set in the RULESET= parameter list.For example, enter RULESET=[00, 01, TK].
    2. Enter RULESCAN=I to specify a Rule Set automation strategy of Individual.
  2. Restart the BMC AMI OpsA PAS with START=COLD.The EIM Rules are now active and will monitor the ITICKET ALERT queue.
