Updating the entities in a policy


Use the procedures in this topic to update the parameters for CPCIDs, subpolicies, LPARs, or groups in a policy or subpolicy:

To update CPC parameters

  1. Type UPD in the CMD column next to a CPCID and press ENTER (or in MainView Explorer, right-click a CPCID and select Line action > Update a policy).
  2. Update the parameters as required.

    Tip

    • You can discard any changes and start over by entering REFRESH on the COMMAND line.
    • To save your changes, type SAVE on the COMMAND line.
    • If you exit the policy without saving, your changes will be lost.
  3. Press F3 to save the changes (or in MainView Explorer, click OK).

To update subpolicy parameters

  1. Type UPD in the CMD column next to a subpolicy name and press ENTER (or in MainView Explorer, right-click a subpolicy and select  Line action > Update a policy ).
  2. Update the parameters as required.

    Tip

  3. Press F3 to save the changes (or in MainView Explorer, click OK).

To update LPAR and group parameters

Important

You can't update parameters for unmanaged LPARs, or convert an unmanaged LPAR to be managed. Delete the LPAR from the policy and add the LPAR again. For more information, see Adding-entities-to-a-policy.

  1. Type UPD in the CMD column next to an LPAR or group name and press ENTER (or in MainView Explorer, right-click the LPAR or group name and select Line action > Update a policy).
  2. Update the parameters as required.

  3. Press F3 to save the changes (or in MainView Explorer, click OK).
